well, if you want you can try Firefox without uninstalling Explorer and see how it goes.
You can get it from here, as well as Picasa both free to keep :)

My advise to you is open the link below and download the final version of IE7 if you don't have Microsoft latest and final version of IE7.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx

You don't have to remove your old version or even if you have IE7 installed. You have an obvious error in the installation and the new IE7 will remove the old version and install the new version. (Or it will fix IE7 if you already have installed).

Please note that when the old version is removed, Microsoft will ask you to allow them to reboot your pc. Plus Microsoft will also tell you that when your pc comes back up, all you will see on your monitor is the wizard installer to quide you through the installation of IE7.

On completion of the installation, then all your programs that you have along with the icons will load an appear on the monitor. (It appears strange, but I use Windows XP Pro., an I tested both 1 & 2 versions of their beta IE7 and Microsoft was correct, as all my programs loaded after only having a blank screen with the wizard for IE7 installation.
