Get a cat carrier and take her to the vet. You are her owner, you're the one that has to make sure she is well. My kids don't like going to the doctor, but it's just something that has to be done. Same with your cat. It may seem cruel, but it's not for very long and it will stop her from suffering. The vets deal with animals all the time, they will be able to handle your cat, and depending on just how bad it is, you can request they give you some sort of sedative you can give her at home before you even leave to help her calm down.
Other than that... could be allergies (they don't have to go outside - if you open the door, allergens can be let in). It could also be some sort of parasite (like mites). In either case... don't keep her suffering herself, get her checked out. It's in her best interest.
Good luck!

Just because she doesn't go outside, that doesn't mean she can't have fleas. And just because you don't see any, that doesn't mean they aren't there.
Take her to the vet. It's part of your responsibility as her owner. The fact that she "freaks out" is not an acceptable excuse for not getting proper medical care for her.
Try some Rescue Remedy. It might help calm her down enough so the vet visits aren't so horrifying. It can be found at health food stores, some pet stores, and online: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=3550&N=2002+113757
Rescue Remedy might help you in more ways than one. In the absence of any physiological problems (allergies, fleas, fungas, etc.), she could be anxious/neurotic. A friend of mine had a siamese that began pulling his hair out. The vet couldn't find any physical ailments to cause it, so he was deemed neurotic and put on valium. Rescue Remedy would probably calm her down and help keep her from ripping her hair out. But that doesn't mean you should avoid the vet. If it's a physical problem, it needs prompt attention.
Good luck!
P.S. I highly doubt it's ear mites. Cats with ear mites tend to scratch AT THEIR EARS.

do no longer hassle approximately it. I had a super marmalade cat who did this his finished life - he lived to be 18! it extremely is merely like a baby sucking his thumb. As he have been given older he did it purely whilst he became unwell or disillusioned. merely ensure the hair on the top of the tail would not get sore from the sucking. attempt cuddling the kitten as much as you could and gently do away with the tail from her mouth once you notice her doing it and in keeping with possibility tickle her chin rather. She might or won't boost out of it thoroughly.

Are you one hundred percent for sure she does not have fleas. Fleas are hard to find on cats because they groom themselves so often, they eat the fleas. you need to use a flea comb and comb out some hair and look for flea dirt. If you get anything that looks like dirt out with the hair, then put it on a white paper towell or napkin, then splash some water on it, if it turns red like blood, then it is flea dirt. I would advise treating her for fleas with advantage. The fleas dont have to bite her with this flea preventive to die, all they have to do is walk on her.
