On my stomach, the front, and the sides just above the hips (lovehandle area) I have what appears to be stretchmarks. I am 6'1", fairly athletic, and 235 lbs. I have been this same weight for about 3 years, but the marks are only 1 year old. I thought it would be something that would go away, but it hasn't. The skin that is stretched feels different than the other skin. It LOOKS like stretchmarks, but how could this be? I just turned 26 y/o, and I don't even have a big belly. What's going on here?

Stretchmarks have little to do with fat / slim /pregnancy
More to do with the skin type you have inherited and it's ability to change Ie, with all of the above AND even just an adolescent growth spurt, it depends on how quickly the change occured in your body, and your skins' ability to handle that change. ps .....they fade over time to be almost unnoticeable!

Are you taking any steroids - corticosteroids? That is what caused my stretch marks. One can have cortisol overabundance (Cushing's syndrome) and that can lead to weight gain, but given your age and the fact you have just noticed them (did not get them as a teen during a growth spurt), I would start doing more research on possible health based causes.

Maybe your body is just growing, strechmarks are normal even the most skinniest people have them, maybe it's from water weight
