Are you talking about the Rainbow gatherings? If so, it's not a cult, because there's not any single religion being promoted. I know people of multiple religious orientations who were at one time part of the "Rainbow Family", but no longer are associated with the movement.

You made me think of the movie Serpent and the Rainbow which has to do with Haiti and Voodoo and Zombification...
Other than that I haven't really heard of a rainbow cult.

MMMM...The rainbow people, to be more specific is a group of people who do not work and own nothing and take a lot of drugs and go around saying that they are preaching the word of God. They often times beg for money, and they belive that it is Gods will, that this is what God wants them to do with their life. Often times they have head lice. They hitchhike accross the country and have gatherings where they give people LSD in exchange for food and other items they need to live.

It is apparently a devil worshiping child sacrificing cult from the 90's based in San Diego, from my research...

The only thing I have heard is that it is associated with gay people and it is their symbol, which is a shame since in the bible it is the promise from God to never destroy mankind again, sort of a new beginning.
