If the man is a bad influence I'd file for custody asap just to keep it legal. Then ask for supervised visits or no visits at all if he's that bad. I doubt he's ever paid support, so he has no right to interfere with your parenting your son.

I dont think you have anything to worry about if he just met him and he's 16 years old and I would say you already have custody and he'll be 18 in two years so he'll be an adult.

nothing unless the father is seeking custody or wants more visitations.... if that's the case - go to court establish visitations and child support payments. If the man wants to be a proper parent he should be providing financial support.!

According to one of your other questions - you mentioned that your ex kept your son away from you .... it seems best if you get all the legal matters taken care of before he runs away with his son again. .. I hope your daughter is handling all this drama... 13 yr. old girls can be sensitive to stressful home situations.... have a heart to heart talk with her about things just to see how she's coping with these matters... good luck!

16 where he decides to live will be up to him, so your a bit late on the custody issue. Besides you can not keep him/ from seeing their father period. Courts will ask him who he wants to be with.

Well since he's 16, if you do go to court they'll just ask him which parent he wants to stay with.
