i honestly get creeped out by people staring at me. i would say give up the staring and just go up and intruduce yourself other wise you look like a creep

I'd ask him what took him so long to come at me. I wouldnt care who was around me at the time. Even if the guy was a dork because there is nothing wrong with someone saying hi or introducing themselves and if my friends had a problem with it then they shouldnt be my friend to begin with.
A shy girl is probably just going to get all giggily. And if you know she is shy then you should try and get to know her slowly.

Well I usually try to give all guys chances. That's actaully how I met my boyfriend. I was talking to my one of my friends (i was 15 at the time, I am now 19 and have the same boyfriend) and he just came up to me and said hi. He was always at parties that I went to and so after he said hi to me and introduced himself he asked me to go to homecoming with him. I said yes and we have been together since.
So, I say that the guy has a better chance of me falling for him if he approaches me first. It shows that the guy is confident and secure.

what do you really think they would do? unless they like you too or at least feel attracted to you, you would probably be dumped regardless of how you look. But of course everybody is a bit shallow even if they don't like to admit, so looks help. why do you women make our lives so difficult? just kidding
