Religions should be discussed with facts and evidences and not to follow blindly what others say especially misinterpretations of
the holy books.

I wish we could. I always try to. As an agnostic leaning towards atheism, it is more difficult for me to read answers from deeply religious people, but I'm always that much more pleased when I read an answer from a Christian or a Muslim which makes me stop and really think, and realize that this person is defending their beliefs in a respectful but effective manner.

Unfortunately, you don't see this too often on here. Not only is it difficult to have a real discussion because of the set-up (which is one reason I'm considering starting a message board for open-minded, respectful people of all faiths who would like to discuss religion), but too many people are rude in their answers or report completely valid questions which challenge their beliefs.

clearly not ,there will always be a dis believer disbelieving
and a convert converting
we are at the stage we now are not by chance but of our own life journey ,our experienc and our own logic
if we were to say ask people to share thier knowledge reached of reason people sans reason will ask to explain ,all the time ,for thier own reasons seeking flaws in the others reasoning or seeking to focus on contradictions
we can accept each others belief but of truth can only reason with reasonable people whos beliefs accord more closly to our own beliefs and reasonings
religion is a framework of like minded believers
faith is universal; but derived of in divergent ways
when a mind is open it is opened unquestionably to its own reasoned position ,it soon closes when that belief that underpins thier faith is questioned
it is not a human failing but a simple human belief but i guess you just gotta take that on faith.

do you think you could write something in a box in less than 1000 words to change the mindset of someone (either side) that has either studied extensively or been told repeatedly one thing for their entire life. But it is interesting to see peoples responses.

Christians are encouraged to be easily entreated. Many today though think open minded is to compromise and a Christian should never compromise what he believes.

definately we should,n i think i do...
for me openmindedness mean,....
respect for everyone's faith n religion.
try to convey ur msg politely n humbly
ask for others faith when u really r interested in it.
argue on others faith n beliefs when u have knowledge about it,arguing being ignorant is extreme disrespect.
