They have to start with the same first two letters? That's hard especially for a little one! I can't think of a thing that starts with the same first two letters and rhymes that is an ice cream flavor...

stirry, story, strawberry
This is stretching it though, because I'm not sure if stirry is a word and the only way they don't rhyme very well, just have that eee sound on the end the same. Sorry, it was the best I could come up with.

Drive your son to school tomorrow and introduce the teacher's head to a rocky road! I don't know how old your child is, but if this is like a grade or pre school assignment, you should bring it to the principal and protest. I bet s/he won't come up with anything either!

Are you sure they have to start with the same first two letters?
Costly, coughy, coffee?
Tussle, tunnel, turtle?
This is practically impossible. Unless they're composed of several syllables, the words usually end up being homophones.
