I'm not clinically overweight (BMI 18) but I want to lose weight. Is this dangerous? Any OTC pill recommendations?

One more thing: what happens when you off the pills? Is your metabolism slower? Do you gain the weight back?

I don't understand when you say don't take them. Can you explain why? Will I get addicted?

You should check out Green Tea diet pills. There are many different brands, the one that works for me is by Applied Nutrition. So far it's working alot better than most of the pricey-er ones. If you want, I'll message you some more info on here.

Sometime back there was a class action suit against a diet pill company or companies. The crux of the suits... the company(ies) knew the pills gave more ills than gains. I have not heard of the outcome. Nevertheless, my money is on the "yes, it is dangerous to take diet pills".

My understanding is diet pills work by inhibiting your appetite for eating. There are alternatives you can do to achieve the same result... albeit harder than popping a pill, but the result is more lasting and beneficial... you might even come to enjoy it!

If you are not overweight, you are playing with fire. You are trying to get your body to be underweight. The body fights that and can go into a "starving mode" where it will definitely mess with your metabolism. Yes, when you stop taking the pills, you will regain the weight. Instead of this unhealthy merry-go-round, just cut back on fats and sugar a little, increase exercise, drink 6 glasses of water per day.

Ever heard of diet and exercise? The minute you stop taking any 'diet' pill not only will you gain the weight (and then some) right back, you will have effectively brought your metbolism to a crashing halt. Besides, if it came in a pill...everyone would be thin.

It's dangerous to go a diet pills period. Go to your doctor and get a real recommendation. It will be safe and accurate for you not just the opinion of somebody who doesn't even know you.

It's dangerous to take diet pills even if you ARE overweight!!!

Just stick to well-balanced, healthy food, and get regular exercise.

Hey come on, you must be super slim (if not thin) judging from your BMI! You don't need to go on diet, and pls save your money to buy some pretty dresses for yourself instead.

Never hurt to have a balanced diet and work out.

every medecine/drug has side effects, short term as well as long term secondary ones; just eat and exercise sensibly, and you will be fine. Isn't life compicated enough, to add other issues of weight control ...etc. Drugs should only be considered if you are overweight as a temporary measure ...etc and not as an everlasting solution.
good luck

Oh shut the hell up....not clinicially overweight LOL. You are clinicially underweight!! And you are going to endanger your health by taking stupid pills. You have a serious problem and no amount of weight loss is going to fix it....because the problem is in your head! Take care : )
