I want to know your opinion! I think reality TV is annoying, yet I can't stop watching it!

How often do you watch it?

Reality TV is true...so addicting because if you analyze it carefully most of it contains mixed elements of jokes, joy, pain and tears. It plays a lot with your emotions and it sells! It feeds the audience with all the drama and confrontation. At the end it is about people and how you handle human relation and bond. Remember in the 80s when soap opera was famous and had huge followers? It is the same concept but it is not as comprehensive as reality tv. It is mesmerizing and addictive but behind all the reality, it is not a reality per se!
It is highly scripted and it is according to the concept in which producers try to catch the niche of the audience based on gender, interest, background and subculture. I think based on my preferences, Amazing Race/ Extreme Makeover Home Edition is my best pick and follow it every single week.

Reality TV is merely the manifestation of the fact that one most certainly is able to develop an intimate connection to those unknown. The individual substitutes themself with those on the program. Also, this form of television provides an increased sense of the ambiguity of human perception. One is not able to predict the repercussion of reality as possible with the calculable allegory.

People's real lives are sometimes worth watching. Pretty much I watch it when it happens to be on when the television is on. About once a month I guess.
