There are 66 books of the Bible,
Fantasy, romance and love, poetry, and a lot more.
I would say the 66 books of the bible as a whole the genre i would say...non-fiction...adventure.

Genre? Hmmm, interesting? I don't think it falls into a genre, since there is only one "Word of God", that would be pretty much the end of the 'genre'....since there are no more episodes to continue the saga.
Perhaps, "Once in a Lifetime, epic novel" would be more accurate in human terms. But it doesn't really come close to what it is. "Direction for Human Interaction, and Salvation" might be more accurate...but so would "Self help in becoming a better and more Godly person".
Worst case...."The book of things that you are failing to do".

Those sound more accurate to me.

The Bible is not "a" book. It's a collection of texts -- written and edited by many people, for many audiences, for many purposes, over many years. It's written in a lot of genres -- written collections of folklore evidently collected from earlier oral tradition; poetry; polemic; allegory; court documents/histories; collections of people's recollections about Jesus; pastoral letters to churches. In terms of genre, you need to deal with each book as a separate text.

have you ever read it from Genesis to Revelation? It is not necessarily one genre. I will say though that it points to Jesus Christ as the one true God, our Messiah. It answers such questions as the purpose of life to how we came to be. It offers us a way to eternal salvation through Jesus Christ our God.

The bible should be in its own genre! It should be in the same genre of books that keep my table from wobbling.

I think it should fall into a "faith based" genre

But I think libraries file it under a religious category, right next to (no joke) UFOS, Bigfoot, and other questionable phenominon.

As a collective whole it is ancient mythology, akin to The Epic of Gilgamesh.

I would classify it as either Fantasy or Horror... possibly conspiracy theory or speculation as well.
