Jehovah's Witnesses understand heaven to refer to the dwelling place of spirit creatures such as Jesus and the angels. They understand the Scriptures to teach that exactly 144,000 humans will join Christ Jesus as kings and priests to administer God's Kingdom (which will soon replace all earthly governments).
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
(Revelation 14:1) Lamb [Jesus] standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand
(Revelation 20:6) they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him
Over whom will they rule? Over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
Hell is NOT someplace/something mankind needs to fear; there is no suffering in the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
Almighty Jehovah God selects those few who have the heavenly calling. Each person "feels" his own hope and each person's hope remains unquestioned by his fellow Christians. Still the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%*) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Dear Simon,
The Watchtower Witnesses say that because they don't know the whole of Truth. They know only a piece and they distort the Bible by focusing on the piece that they know.
I'm sorry but I have stopped quoting actual Scripture when I talk with JWs because they come back with NEW distortions a few months later.
I studied with a JW aunt of mine in 1971 when I lived only 10 minutes away from her. I didn't have a car and I was extremely lonely but she wouldn't come to visit me UNLESS it was to study the Watchtower books.
She told me that the Jews had fallen out of God's favor and the JWs had taken their place and were therefore the 144,000 being referred to.
JWs use the verse in Ecclesiastes to claim that this earth will go on forever, but they ignore what Jesus said about the earth passing away and His Word never passing away.
JWs show these lovely pictures of peaceful life on their ficticious earth. But my question is What age will everybody be? Think about it. I'm 58 and my youngest grandson will soon be 1 year old. Currently I am 1 of his favorite people. Will I come back as a 58 year old. But then what about my grandparents who were among my best friends? What age will they be? Might they be some age that came before I was even born? That is only 3 generations. What kind of chaos do you get with 3,000 generations?
Thank you and may our heavenly Father bless you abundantly as well.

I belive that you are speaking about the 144,000 from each tribe which sahll be the saints in the end time and shal endure and not recieve the mark of the beast. I believe you will find that in the book of Revelations, which, i believe is a very good book for everyone of all religions to read. God bless, good night.

I know it says that in the Bible, but Revelations is full of mystery and intrigue and double-meanings. Every religious group interprets it differently. I'm a protestant and I was always told that the 144,000 is the number of Jews who'll be allowed in heaven. You have to remember that protestants believe only those who believe in Jesus and who are 'born again' will go to heaven, and so the 144,000 are those born Jewish who convert to Christianity and are born again. That is what I was told, but I doubt anyone knows the true answer.

The total number of those making up the "body" of Christ, the spirit-begotten congregation, is stated to be 144,000 persons. These, when resurrected to the heavens, are to reign with Christ as kings and priests (Rev 7:4-8; 14:1-5; 20:4,6).... They are the nucleus around which a much larger number of honest-hearted persons have gathered.Earth These latter ones are called by Jesus the "other sheep" (John 10:16). The Bible also designates them as a "great crowd," having the hope of everlasting life on earth as subjects of the Kingdom (Rev 7:9-17).

Because the Bible teaches that there are two classses. Those with the heavenly hope referred to as "little flock"(Lu.12:32).These ones will number 144,000 when the final sealing takes place. They are the only ones 'born again' as they are anointed with holy spirit. This ingathering began at Pentecost 33CE in the upper room where 120 faithful disciples were gathered.
Rev.14:1-4 speaks of these ones reigning in heaven as kings and priests with Christ Jesus over the earth.
The other group mentioned in the Bible are the ones with the earthly hope.These are referred to as "other sheep" and "great crowd".(Rev.7:7;John 10:16;Ps37:9-11,29:Pro.2:21;
Dan.2:44;Rev.21:3,4)
The Bible does not teach that all that are good go to heaven. The earth was formed for man to live on.Heaven was and is for spirit creatures.
There is a misunderstanding also involving those 144,000.As Rev.14:4 calls these ones 'virgins'.It does not mean that members of this class are necessarily unmarried in the flesh. The apostle Paul wrote to those with the heavenly calling that, whereas there are advantages to Christian singleness, marriage is preferrable under certain circumstances(1Cor.7:1,2,
36,37).What characterizes this class is a spiritual virginity. They have avoided spiritual adultery with worldly politics and with false religion(James 4:4;Rev.17:5)As the betrothed bride of Christ they have kept themselves pure "without a blemish in among a crooked and twisted generation"-Phil.2:15.
The 144,000 are" bought from the earth ","bought from among mankind".They are adopted as spirit sons of God, and after their resurrection, they will be longer mere flesh-and-blood humans. As mentioned in Rev.14:4 they become "the firstfruits to God and to the Lamb"

they get this from Revelations 7:1; 7:4; 14:1; 14:3
jehovah witnesses are bad about taking things out of context, the facts still remain that if you believe Jesus is the Christ, the living savior, the son of God, sent to us as a sacrafice so our sin will be forgiven then you too will have a place in Heaven.
you can read all of Rev. 7 and 14 maybe 6 too.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
I was told by a witness that the 144,000 are made up of 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel.
But most importantly, that these will be part of a heavenly host that will govern over the faithful. The gentleman I talked to said a member of his congregation is one of the chosen. He refers to the Lords Prayer for answer of where he will be.
Our Lord which art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy name,
Thy Kingdom come thy will be done.
One Earth as it is in Heaven.......
So they believe God will make earth like Heaven and that is where the faithful shall be..
Hope this helps
Live Well and Shine..........

It is a false teaching; they must have a different version of the bible cuz mine is specifically talking about 144,000 JEWS who are servants of God who will be "sealed." It specifically refers to them by the 12 tribes of Israel. Revelation 7:3-8. Only 144,000 get to go to heaven? that's pretty slim pickings.....contrary to scripture.
