do women really like men that are independant?

do women like men that own their own home, good fashion sense, good sense of humor, progressive-thinking, no baby-mama drama? or would they rather date someone thats going to give them reasons to have sob-stories, idiots / losers?

I like men that are independent, or more precisely competent. I would rather be a man's partner than his caretaker. We all need help and support now and then, but it shouldn't be all one sided or all the time.
