naw man, you wouldn't get the kind of complete long-lasting mood swings you're talking about from marijuana. i mean, lethargy and such while under influence, yeah. or lethargy from heavy daily use.
but having a single smoking session shouldn't be like some kind of switch that you throw to spin the wheel of mood swings.

Here's the deal... If you are here asking questions, you probably need to stop. My mom has smoked for 32 years and is paranoid schitzophrenic, bipolar, narcisstic, and a reigious fanatic. I am not saying that weed alone caused these, but why risk it? I smoked a LOT up until a few years ago. I read a study about how it CAN cause mental illness if done for a long time.. Guess what.. I quit the same day. I refuse to take the chance of being like her.. She thinks she was cloned, and also thinks the government is putting chemicals into her house.. Once you get to that point, sadly a lot of people think that medications are government conspiracies.. If you're worried, I'd say stop... Ya I know, I miss it too.. But I would miss my "normal" mind more.. Yes it can cause the weird feeling you described. When I quit, after about a week I felt a clarity I hadn't felt in the 4 years I did smoke.. Plus, you wanna go to jail for something that makes you feel that way? Good luck with everything...

That effect is not likely on most people. It can cause you to be lethargic, usually if you smoke it daily, but it shouldn't really turn on a switch that lasts for weeks, or even more than the day you smoked. However I have found that weed does effect some people differently. For instance alot of people I know with ADHD need weed to keep them calm, otherwise they're bouncing off the walls and talking and being so loud and its amazing how weed just balances them out. Some people it just makes them incredibly tired or lazy. Some peple just like the mental change and become dependent. Perhaps your neurons are reacting particularly to it. Do you feel you have any other personality or neurological abnormalities? If so weed may not be a good drug for you

The paranoia depends on the person. Its true that it can cause all probs mentioned, but only if you have a propensity for it. I have smoked it all my smoking life (25yrs) with no adverse affects at all, apart from perhaps a little too laid back! But then I neva took it to excession.. thru my own research and observations, its those who 'overdo' it that tend to get these paranoia's and suchlike.. simply if its not making you feel good why would you carry on? Then when you feel paranoid..ask if there's any real reason for it..? Sometimes there is.. as I believe that under the influence if you like it gives you a deeper insight, and sometimes instincts are mistaken for paranoia, and the first to call you paranoid, just might have something to hide ay? You hear that it can do this, and because its not a familiar feeling when stoned, and overdoing it can cause an apathy all round, then you cud convince yourself that you're paranoid?! Of course never denying the medics, if you have the disposition, then poss yes the cannabis could bring on wots underlying in you anyway, ie schizophrenia. I have raised two children, to two law abiding (except were smoking hash is concerned!) adults, I have never been in trouble with the police, except for a parking fine here n there, i have lived and worked in Spain for 5 years.. and when enjoying my evening smoke, find i even get creative and come up with all my great plans.. which unlike some that dont smoke dont even have..? I do do them too. So dont worry, you are in control. Stop if it doesnt work for you, and at worst seek help if you think its getting the better of You. Stop reading the tabloids!! There's massively more problems related to drink..that kills people regularly, without fail, nobody dies from cannabis.. The breweries depend on cannabis propaganda.. think about it! All the best..

Thats really bizzare.... especially the part about the effects lasting for WEEKS...that is highly unusual in my experience.
I know that Weed effects many people differently, but my first instinct is....if it is not something you enjoy for whatever reason, then it probably is not a good idea to continue. I have been a smoker for almost 29 years now, and I will say that even though I enjoy it, it DOES effect your ability to recall memory for chronic users over a long period of time. If your going to use it, dont abuse it, that goes for ANY illicit drug. Common sense goes a long way. Let your concience be your guide.

Weed can cause lethargy when you smoke it a lot. Otherwise the experience can be quite different depending on what type of weed you smoked. It can be invigourating, sedating, make you feel spiritual, paraniod, cut loose and party, etc. I believe in recreational use and that's not more than 1/week for me. Wish I had some. Too bad I'm so broke.

weed is a great escape from reality, a little holiday in your mind , it breaks the normality of everyday living. it makes you more creative and stimulates your mind. Different weed has different strengths, and different effects. All of them passifying, you will never feel the erge to smash a pint glass in somones face.
