I think mixed race relationships are a problem only if the people in the relationship have issues. Others outside of the relationship may have problems but that's their problem not the couples.

Interracial relationships are more commonplace now than ever before. Why anyone would have a problem with it I will never know. Would you not date someone because they had brown eyes and you have green? Its only a color. I have never dated a man of my same race, and probably never will. I have a bi-racial child and I am in an interracial relationship with the most wonderful man in the entire world and couldn't be any happier. If someone has a problem with these types of relationships it is because they are ignorant and you shouldn't waste your time or energy on them.

I think that in our society, depending upon where you live, it can be a challenge to not be descriminated against, especially if it is a "high contrast" type of interracial relationship. Example of high contrast is like someone who is very black is dating someone who is not just white but has light skin and blonde hair. They simply stand out more, appearance wise, and are better targets for this discrimination.

I think it can be very sexy, though. If you can get past the looks you'll get from people who don't understand.

mine is fine....
I do like honesty --- I find so many people say they are fine with it but the minute they see that my hubby is white - then they have a problem..... I also feel a lot of people aren't being truthful because we travel a lot between Canada and the USA and bigotry is still alive and well.
We were in Idaho two weeks ago and I thought the whites we encountered on our road trip were going to stare holes right thru us --- everyone in this one restaurant couldn't eat their food for staring at us the whole time we were there!

I think if the two people are in love, then its all good. The only problem i have is if it happens for the wrong reasons. Like in societies where white people are considered to be 'the superior race' and you find black people getting married to white people just to feel like they are a part of the higher race. That usually leads to a lot of disappointment. Otherwise if both people are happy then i dont see any problem, its just like any other r/ship.

I think it is fine.

A good realtionship is based upon two people loving each other, being able to get along, having similar values and morals, etc. Race should not be an issue.

It really concerns the people involved. But integral to the workability is that each be willing to allow for each others customs etc. If they are able to give importance to each other and communicate things out, I see no reason why it would not work out. But its down to the intention of the people concerned.
