I am Buddhist, and lived in Hong Kong many years. We have a saying that when we pray but our prayers are not answered, we say God was sleeping. You mistake that prayers are bequests for things but Buddhists use prayers to focus on our problems and develop our ownselves to find answers. Since you apparently are atheist or agnostic, then you have nothing to shore you up during personal crises. Others are comforted with hope and a positive attitude is always better. A great scientist Linnaeus once said "Nature doesn't make fools, they make themselves."

I have had prayers answered many times over. That's enough for me. A little faith isn't a bad thing, but I don't imagine you agree. God isn't dead, of that I am certain in my heart of hearts.

i am muslim,i pray 5 times a day,n i always feel that peace n satisfaction of my mind n soul which tells me that my prayers r being listened....i Allhumdulillah got whatever i asked for....i can never show my enough gratitude to God....

God isnt dead. He is imaginary, fictional character. He was never alive. if u pray, no one will hear you (unless you are praying with other people around, then of course they will hear u) hah
