My cats both throw up a lot. We feed them Aldi's brand food and they throw up on occasion so we try a more expensive product like IAMS or one of the better ones and they throw up even more. I always keep their bowls filled with food and with water. Does anyone know why this would happen?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Usually it is not whole food pieces.

Are your cats throwing up whole food pieces? It could have something to do with the foods you feed them. I have a cat that throws up all of the brands of foods that I could find (even the really healthy balanced ones) until I tried regular Purina cat chow. That is the only food my cat can eat and not throw up. In your cats case it could be hairballs. Try switching to a hairball control cat food. You could also buy a product called "Laxatone". You place a little bit of this on your kitty's paw and he licks it off. It works really well. You can buy it at a vet's office or a pet store.

Iams, Aldi's, Whiskas, Meow Mix, Nine Lives, Science Diet....not "balanced" foods. They are full of meat by-products and corn. Try finding a QUALITY cat food (Wellness, Nature's Variety, Solid Gold, Natural Balance, etc.) All of these foods are made with REAL meats, nutritional fillers, and more natural preservatives.

Try some soft food, as well. It's easier for cats to digest than hard food.

Get the cats checked out by a vet to rule out any intestinal blockages, allergies, etc.

A good hairball remedy is putting 1/2tsp. of canned pumpkin (not pie filling which is too high in sugar) in with their food a few times a week. You can also use butter or baby squash. All help to slick things up.

And try not to leave food out all the time. Free-grazing can lead to one fat kitty. Two meals a day is sufficient. I give my cat half a can twice a day for a total of one can a day. I buy the more expensive food (Wellness).....and even then, it only costs $1 a day to feed him.

Well it could be the food so try diffrent brands or it may be how much food they get. When my cats eat alot of food they usllay throw it back up later. It is most like too much food. Give them just alittle food and see what happens.

Maybe hairball, but filling up their bowl is not a good idea, my cat's vet recommend to give them food twice a day, make sure it's just enough to make them full.
Don't over fed your cats, one more reason why your cats throw up because they might be full enough but keeps on going because your cats can see a boat load of food. Good lcuk hope this helps solve your cats problems.

spray the cat w/ a little squirt of water from a bottle when she tries to eat the food and say NO! and do it over and over again until she gets the hint. NEVER feed the cat leftovers from the table or when you're cooking or at any time. ONLY feed her from her own bowl 2 times a day, around the same time every day, to get her on a schedule. Maybe try feeding her dinner when your family is having dinner to occupy her? as far as the peeing on the bed, do not allow the cat into your bedroom until he is litter box trained. watch him closely and when you see him peeing on the rug, lift him up immediately and drop him in the litter box. also, try changing the brand of litter you use. maybe he has an aversion to it, if he was previously trained. it takes a lot of repetition for cats to learn - more than dogs.

How much do they eat? My cats don't always seem to understand that there will be more food, so they gorge themselves and then later they throw up. Also, If I let the food get stale and hard or if I don't change their water often enough, they start throwing up.

Another idea is that it may not be the food ,,,but, it could be the water.
Try boiling the water for their bowl before you give it to them to drink.
I live in the country and am on well water that I boil for my kitties.

Have they been checked for worms/parasites lately?
This could be another cause for food upsets.
I would talk to their vet if this continues.
Good Luck

some cats are very sensitive to certain foods..give them petrolium jelly( some sort of vasaline ) as a treat twice a week..put it on thier paws, under thier nose..they will lick it and it will aid in digestion..you can also buy petromalt at the petstore..which is the same thing but more costly...I have 2 cats and they go through the same thing..good luck:)
