I was going though some of the new features that the new IE has and now supports, some of the ideas I think are decent on it, such as the new phishing feature as well as security updates (which are always handy); there are other things I really don't like about it though such as the tabbed windows option (Its actually strange this was not an upgrade to IE 6, as yahoo and many other companies built third party scripts to do this in IE). I felt the new UI was a bit much although it does look somewhat better (in my opinion).

My favorite thing I found that I liked about the new IE is that it supposedly disables (nearly) all active x plug ins to decrease security threats, I have a feeling this will cut down on the amount of malware that users get, however the option to turn active x content is still on, so it would require the user to be a bit educated to help decrease the risk.

Please if your going to say the browser sucks because you can't figure out how to use it (and you didn't bother reading the included documentation on it) don't answer.

If your going to talk **** then give a detailed reason.

Everything you see in IE7 as an "added" feature has been copied from Firefox's browser.

Plugin control, ActiveX control, Tabbed browsing..."old stuff" where Firefox is concerned

IE7 is still full of bugs and demands more testing, not to mention the fact that Microsoft and Yahoo were very premature and PUSHED it's release far too soon. Thus all the NUMEROUS problems millions of people are having.

think i'll wait a while before getting ie7, the new phishing feature is the only thing new that i know about. you can turn off active X controls. tabbed windows is not new, can think of at least three broswers had it for years. not firefox. from what i read it like ie6 sends info to ms or anybody else. the phishing thingy is susposed to stop this, but?. faster, dont think so. better, jurys still out.

I loved the tabbed browsing. Honestly I used to see the forced security on a browser as irritating until I got hit with a virus. Being a software developer and proficient with computers, believe me when I tell you I never got a virus until that point.

Although it still irritates me, I think it takes a little bit of the risk in browsing away.

Tabbed browsing is great because I only open on browser and when I go home for the day I just tell IE to reopen the sites that I had open when I left.

Another trick is when researching stuff on the web, open the different results into their own tabs, you can then save them to your favorites as a tabbed group.

So far I like it very much. I have had no problems with it. I had the tabs already because of yahoo toolbar so that wasn't really new for me.
