I certainly think they can. They can sense a lot of things I even seen where some can sense cancer.

Dog's can definitely tell some things way before people know about them. How they know what they know, is not really clear. Dog's have superior sense of smell, and this may give them clues that humans are not aware of. Dogs may also have better hearing than humans. Some people also claim that dogs have psychic powers in connection with the one or two people that they are most affectionate with.

Whether in this case you are actually pregnant or not, I suggest you get the test and find out. Even if you are not pregnant, your dog may have some other reason to be possessive that you did not think of yet.

Also dogs experience seasonal hormonal changes. Maybe it is just the same time of year as last time you were pregnant?

Animals are very sensitive and can sense things. I dont have a dog but our cat, when i was pregnant with my first, he became my lil body guard. (I ended up sleeping on the couch in the later months of the pregnancy, -only place that i could get comfy!!!! lol) after I had the baby he went back to following my husband everywhere. Now I am pregnant with number to and hes literally under my feet constantly and either sleeps on my pillow, at my feet or on my belly. Its cute.
and those who post sick stupid answers in here regarding to your post, ignore em.. they're being immature.
You should prolly take a test. Animals can't predict pregnancy but they are sensitive and know when something is wrong and whatnot.
Dogs usually pick one of their owners from what I understand as the "pack leader".
Its cute

I had never thought of it before, but it could be possible. After all, dogs can smell cancer! Certain dogs (like bloodhounds) can smell a person's body and point out cancerous tumors even before medical science can detect it. Since pregnancy produces HCG in the urine, it could be true. I have even read that some people can smell the HCG in the urine, so dogs, who spend their whole day sniffing pee, could maybe smell it.

dogs can not sense a pregnancy. There are lots of reasons it could be possessive, but its probably a coincidence he did it when you were pg and now.you re best getting a + test before worrying about a baby, but mabie you have a psychic dog!

I think that dogs can sense when your pregnant. My old pitbull (rip)used to have a habit of jumping up in a persons face ( not at them) to look them in the eyes whenever anyone would come into the house. When I became pregnant with my first I was the only one that she didn't do that to when walking in the door. Also she was more protective of me when I was sleeping. Before she used to just growl when she heard my old roommate or hubby coming up the stairs and after I became pregnant if I was sleeping or had my eyes closed she wouldn't let anyone up the stairs (including my hubby who was her owner) until I let her know that it was alright.

i really think they sense somethig is different more than anything.i have a 5 yr old corgi and before i knew i was pregnant she started going to the bathroom in the house.shes been potty trained for years.i mean she even did it right in front of me one day.she also just started acting weird in general.the vet said nothing was wrong physically with her so i really think that she knew.we just try to give her extra attention because after my last child was born she got even worse.so my opinion is yes dogs can sense change even before you do

Instead of getting a pregnancy test... i think is better to trust your dog's instinct!
Go get a test girl!
