a 45 year old woman here who isn't sure about how to get back into the dating scene...so leary in meeting a man for the first time..I guess cause I don't want to be rejected but would like to meet someone who wants to become friends and see what happens from there.I would like to enjoy my life now and do alot of things with someone.

It's hard because there are limited "Good" guys out there. All the men out there want sex, sex and sex without commitment. Whatever you do stay away from meeting men online. Because that is all they want. The dating sites should be called sex sites or if you want a one night stand look here.
Just becareful with getting back in the game.

Honey, you're at the peak of womanhood honey. Don't look at your age as a drawback but embrace it. You're experienced and you know what you want, I think. And you're done playing the schoolgirl games! Now you could go get a boy toy to mold and shape and play with, or you can get a refined gentlemen about your age. But you just have to put yourself out there honey and be confident about yourself. There are pleanty of women that think the same way but there are plenty of men that want the same thing as well. A nice bar, coffee shop, church are a few places where to find some top rate men. Good luck, and chin up!

nobody wants to be rejected but all you have to do is go out evry now and then with some friends of yours to a bar, or out to eat, and maybe go to a couple of parties and mingle with some guys and let him know that you are looking for a friend and maybe something can happen from there, you will meet a lot of good men like that.

Try the dating site Adult Friend Finders. I am a man approaching fifty and I had some luck there.
But, remember, rejection is all part of the game. You just have to accept it and move on.
