If not, how does this contribute to his growing ignorance and hubris? Are ignorance andd hubris coextensive?

Rarely does a pompous windbag have the intellectual honesty to know when he or she is wrong.

What is worse is the few times that he or she knows that he or she is wrong and refuses to admit it. This is most painful to behold.

It contributes to growing ignorance and hubris in all the usual ways. If one's thinking is constantly self-bolstering, then the thinker will seek out only that which bolsters him or her. In being thus falsely edified and bolstered, the sad thinker will become more and more prideful, eventually concluding to him- or herself that he or she is godlike.

Ignorance and hubris have to be coextensive.

wow! I am impressed!
I do not know what hubris is !

No and pompous windbag ALWAYS KNOWS that he is RIGHT. That is what makes him the pompous windbag that he is.

The condition of pompous windbagus contributes to his growing ignorance in that he is a closed system, unable to intake new ideas and fresh thought and approach, since he already knows EVERYTHING.

If I knew what hubris was, I would be able to determine if in fact they could coexistent.

Just looked up hubris and saw it to mean overbearing pride and arrogance, yeah, ignorance and hubris do indeed coexist in my ex-husband.

The point of not having religious dogma is that the individual is open to evidence to change his or her world view.
