I'm a RN who has taught Nursing for over 20 years and the main medical reason for encouraging people to drink atleast 8 glasses of water a day is to flush out impurities from the body thereby removing toxins. Since the body is approximately 80% water, this water intake is necessary to keep the body hydrated and the electrolytes and blood components in proper balance. Dehydration causes all kinds of heart and blood circulation problems. Adequate water intake will help the skin to be smooth and plumped out and is necessary to keep the kidneys and bowels working properly. Adequate fluid intake is also a requisite of proper digestion and a lack of it will affect the nutritional intake available to the body for maintenance, growth, and repair. Good luck to you.

Water Menu For Weight Loss
Many of us know that keeping our bodies well hydrated is essential for good health and for weight loss. Drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water every day is recommended and yet many people find this difficult to do.
If you are one of the many people who find it difficult to drink water, here is a program easily followed to ensure you are well hydrated every single day.
When you wake up you will often be thirsty because your body loses water while you are sleeping through breathing and perspiration. Drink a large glass of water with a slice of lemon for zing.
Drink another glass of water with breakfast or a cup of herbal tea before setting off the day.
Mid morning - snack on a piece of juicy fruit such as orange, rockmelon, watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew. Have a glass of water and perhaps try a dash of herbal aloe juice which is wonderfully soothing to the digestive system.
Lunch - think of soup or have a glass of water before your meal, or perhaps a herbal tea.
Mid afternoon - While you are preparing your evening meal, drink a glass of water and snack on some crunchy fresh vegetables.
Evening - Sip a glass of water before your meal with a dash of your favourite fruit juice for flavour.
After dinner - before bedtime drink your final glass of water and sleep well!
Now here's the really exciting part - you may notice a reduction in inches and centimetres, as you body's water store become redundant and so decrease. You may need to 'spend a penny' more but the results will be worth it.

Drinking water correctly (yes, may sound funny but beginning marathon runners tend to drink to much and become water intoxicated. But if u don't do that or any other type of endurance training don't worry) can make u feel better, have better skin, help regulate your digestive tract and keep your temp. on an even keel. But 8 glasses is pretty much a myth. Drink enough to keep your urine straw to lemonade color

The Fountain of Youth, Health, and Everything Else that's Good
Water is necessary for your body to digest and absorb vitamins and nutrients. It also detoxifies the liver and kidneys, and carries away waste from the body. And when it comes to digestion . . . it's just not happening without water. Fiber alone cannot aid proper digestive function by itself. In fact, without water as its partner, good fiber goes bad, causing constipation and extreme discomfort.
If you're dehydrated, your blood is literally thicker, and your body has to work much harder to cause it to circulate. As a result, the brain becomes less active, it's hard to concentrate, your body feels fatigued, and you just "poop out."

It keeps you hydrated and flushes all the toxins out of your body. You do end up peeing a lot though. Its a healthy way to go. I've been drinking nothing but water for the past three weeks and I feel awesome! (I used to drink nothing but diet pepsi.)

First of all, it will send you to the bathroom every hour on the hour.
It will keep your blood vessel from collapsing. It will make your skin more elastic and if you don't want to drink the water, pour it in a basin and soak your feet. Makes it easier to clip your nails if they are thick.
