for religious and scientific discussion, would intelligent, open-minded people come to it and respectfully discuss the types of issues which cause major conflict in Y!answers?
I asked a very legitimate question on here of people of all and no religions, about why they think I have begun leaning towards atheism since coming onto yahoo!answers. I not only made sure to refer to one specific religion, but I was equally respectful to theists and atheists alike, yet my question was reported and deleted. I find that people on here have no respect and merely try to put down or silence those who think differently from them. Besides all that, there are certain aspects of this forum that make it less than ideal for discussion of topics.
So, would people come and remain respectful during discussion? Would people of all religions and non-religions agree to remain open-minded and defend their views instead of just forcing them on others? I think such a forum would be a wonderful outlet.

Yeah, I know it happens to many people no matter how hard you try to be respectful, but it still bothers me. What bothers me most is that I had a lot of answers I hadn't had time to read yet and they were all deleted as well.
In any case, I think yahoo!answers limits discussion because it makes it very difficult to reply to what other people have said in response to your question. You keep having to start new questions. I know there are a lot of messageboards out there, but I thought if I started with a basis of people from here on answers who are actually interested in discussing these topics seriously, then it might work. And I know I'll still get rude people who only want to cause problems, but at least I can do something about it on there.
To the person who asked if I minded their English -- don't worry about it. I work with people of many nationalities, and though I may have a better grip on English then some of them, most of them are a lot smarter than me!
