i knew him when he was a kid.sweet boy.but he took this crap outta getting a rush...not medical reasons..what does it do to you?! please no gore.

Methadone is a narcotic pain reliever, similar to morphine. It has different affects on different people. For the most part for addicts trying to get of heroin it helps with withdrawal symptoms. If he was using them to get high...Basically...it would be like taking..percocet, vicodin etc. When he overdosed his heart probably stopped. Its slows the heart rate and if he took too much it basically slowed down to the point of death.
Methadone is just another addictive drug. No different than if he was doing cocaine or heroin. The high may differ...but the end result is usually the same. I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
