“Don't imagine that you'll discover the truth by accumulating more knowledge. Knowledge creates doubt, and doubt makes you ravenous for more knowledge. You can't get full eating this way”
- Lao Tzu -
I believe that this is true, that we accumulate facts and expand the circumference of ignorance. If it continues like this then we will never reach the truth, it is like chasing after the horizon...

It is sad that so many people think that one needs knowledge to have truth. Wisdom is an even better way to obtain it:
“He who knows others is learned. He who knows himself is wise”
- Lao Tzu -
I have heard more truthful things come from people who never had a day of education then from the mouths of professors...

Yes I believe that is true. My college education was just a series of facts thrown together but very little wisdom. I am glad I went to college but at this point in my life, formal education, for me, is irrelevant. Wisdom is found in surprising places as we go through our day to day life.

I usually agree with almost everything you put up here, but I disagree with this one.
The greater one's base of knowledge, the broader the scope of understanding.
It doesn't follow that it will help you find a *personal* truth from accumulating knowledge, but you may be better able to comprehend the truths that others embrace.
It does us no good to remain *willfully* ignorant.

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge ; because thou hast rejected knowledge,I also will reject thee,....." Hosea 4:6a.Knowledge is a wonderful thing when used wisely. If it's not used wisely then I agree with your statement.Ungodliness is increasing more and more , 17% of church going people read their Bibles today. One Minister speaking on this subject felt that this would be the last generation to read their Bibles. On the other side the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God,such are the evolutionist. They think they have it all figured out and believe completely in a lie. Thanks 4 the 2

pretty much true so when you get enough info to theorize there is a god and you want Him in your life then you must step out on faith, and then things become clear and at that time the process of knowledge accumulation will be totally different. It will be like getting to know a friend and that is very different

I dont think life is just true or false, its more complicated, its like choosing a better one. So, i prefer to chase the truth instead of settling with ignorance, because for me, truth even with hard work, is better than ignorance.

I too believe this is true. However, by gaining knowledge and wisdom we expand our circumference of understanding. At some point I believe that will lead us to God. It is in his image our minds were created (if you choose to believe so). He planted to the seed of eternity in our heart.

I don't know about that..the only way you can find out the truth about something is to find out all of the facts about it and weigh them against each other until you get the correct or best answer...unless we do that we will all remain ignorant.

I think the idea is one to make you think, but then would you say we should stop learning and become completely ignorant?
Ignorance is either a lack of knowledge or a lack of unerstanding to use that knowledge properly.
