*raises eyebrows* Mm-hmmm...that "well respected Finland newspaper" sounds more like a tabloid to me. Ask any geologist about the validity of lowering a microphone into a hole to "hear the sounds of plate movements" (at 2000 degrees, no less--must be one hell of a durable microphone) and I bet they'll laugh in your face.

So, we've got a lot of bible qhotes, a Finnish tabloid, and a dubious-sounding Dr. Rawlings. Sorry, I'm just not finding myself to be convinced...

When the scriptures say that Jesus was 3 days in the heart of the earth it is speaking of the grave. No hell is not at the center of the earth

In 1611 english, the word hell meant a 'covered' place.

a common expression was to put their potatos in hell. which was a vegetable cellar.

It didn't mean to cook the potatos.

because of the misconception of the word hell many newer bibles are using Shoel and Hades.
which in the original languages meant "grave" or "pit"
