A sick cat will become lethargic (just lays around). Depending on what is wrong, they will refuse to eat or drink. Unfortunately, there is only one way to be sure your cat has a fever, and that is to take its temperature. This is not to be attempted by someone who doesn't know how, or you could seriously injure your cat by perforating his colon. If you think your cat is sick, then a vet is the best option.

This is not a hard and fast rule but generally, a cat with a temperature will have a dry nose and very warm ears and paws (warmer than usual). The cat will also be a mite lethargic and will show some loss of appetite. But cats are so good at masking weaknesses, its really hard to tell without inserting a thermometer up their bottom. They developed the instinct to look like they have no weaknesses so as not to appear vulnerable to predators.

Uh, it's kinda hard to tell unless you take it's temperature and I wouldn't even attempt that unless you are VERY experienced because the rectal thermometer could get broken off in the anal area if the cat becomes really fiesty. Take her to the vet and he or she can do that for you and then if your cat does have a fever, they can tell you all the whys.

lathargic listless, poor or no appetite and very warm ears to the touch. u can also buy a baby rectal thermomenter and take it yourself. use a small amount of lubrication before insertion take it to the vets for treatment . alot of nasty cat viruses and diseases. also if a cat gets bitten they can get very high fevers from the bite getting abcessed and here is where the feliene lukemia gets started from infected cats that bite one another

When it puts a little cat sized ice pack on it's head and a thermometer in it's mouth... that's a good sign of a fever.
