they are both anti-depressants
but they are not the same drug.
Zoloft (sertraline hydrochloride) is indicated for:
Depression
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
Panic disorder
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Premenstrual dysphoric disorder
Social anxiety disorder
Prozac (fluoxetine hydrochloride) is indicated for:
Depression
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
Panic disorder
Bulimia Nervosa
and is also marketed under the name "Serafem" for Premenstrual dysphoric disorder

Zoloft is different. I take zoloft for anxiety and depression. Prozac is like just for depression but i do know they are completely different. Prozac isnt good for you where as zoloft is better when they did all the testings and stuff.

They are different drugs in the same class of drugs know as SSRI's or Selective Serotionin reuptake inhibiotors.

They are two different drugs, but in the same family-SSRIs. Given for depression or anxiety usually.

Hey they are different , while they both help with the same problem they are not the same.and mixing one for the other or switching is a big no no

They are from the same class of drugs, SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), but they are not chemically the same.

I only tried Effexor and it was crap. And it took me forever to get off it. If you don't need them, STAY AWAY!

no they are different. Zoloft and Paxil are basically the same.
