I mean where did the other 23 chromosomes come from with Mary? Did they just materialize in her body?

I know what immaculate conception is already, so don't bother explaining it to me.
And asexual reproduction? Hah! Are you saying Mary was a lower life form? Finally, "God can do anything!" Is the typical, blanket response I was expecting from the fundie brigade, but it is kinda disappointing that none of you would try to at least come up with a theory about the biological mechanism of this miraculous birth. It's easy to say,"Oh, it's documented in the bible, so it must be true!" How about some original thoughts, before you admonish me to think outside the box?

I've known women to get pregnant after calling out "Oh God oh God oh God," and teens to swear it was an act of immaculate conception...

Mary's pregnancy was not spontaneous.
Luke 1:34-35
Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" [35] The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.

If you can accept that God can create ex nihilo then the pregnancy of Mary, while special and unique, is less of a miracle, because God already had 23 chromosomes to work with, when he had none when He created Adam!

How does God go about doing any of the things we read about as miracles in the Bible? He does not explain Himself to us, instead He presents these things as fete accompli. Jesus never explained Himself in terms his contemporaries could accept. Instead Jesus always turned everything on it's head; the last shall be first, and the first last, etc.
The only time He did explain Himself, Gov. Pilate could not accept it. Matthew 27:11
Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And Jesus said to him, "It is as you say."

Sure! There are mean-faced, clipped-haired lesbians in San Francisco that are getting "spontaneously" pregnant all the time via the use of the turkey baster... right?? lol

But seriously - Do you really care what I believe? Isn't it more important what you believe? That is what you need to ask yourself when it comes to your own faith. The bottom line is who the hell cares if Mary had an immaculate birth or not. I'm sure some people think it is the most important thing in the world but my personal belief is that Jesus what much more important than that little piece of trivia in the bible. You are splitting hairs (that's my opinion).

No they can not, just Mary. After building the earth , flooding it apearing time and time again in the old testament , Making Mary have a baby is a small thing. Read the old testament and see how many times people seen God. see all the things God did . I bet you have never read the old or new testament.

Of course it's not possible, unless God Himself allows it, and He did. One time. No more. No less.

Mary was a virgin, and she became pregnant to fulfill the prophecy that the Savior of the world would come through a virgin.. And so He did.

Remember what your talking about here friend. The God of creation, he spoke the worlds into existance according to the Bible. He created man from the dust of the ground. He did not have sex with Mary, he impregnated her.... for the God of creation the great creator of all things it would be nothing more difficult for him that to say "it is" and it would be.

Yes. Marry is not the only "holy conception" on record. It's called A-sexual reproduction. Lots of other life forms do it.

It is absolutely not possible to just become pregnant but there is a mental disorder that a woman wants so badly to be pregnant that her minds convinces her body that she is and she can begin doing crazy things like producing milk and stuff like that. I forget what the disorder is called though.
