My husband went because his unit had to go. But he said he'd do it again. If it wasnt for leaving behind his wife and two kids, he would have extended or come home and then go back. He said there is so much more going on over there than the media shows and it made him feel good that he was a part of that. I personnaly dont think our troops need to be there anymore. I'm sorry, i support my husband and all of our troops, i just dont support our govts. decision on this one.

I think since we started the war, and removed the order which now opens the country to so much chaos, we have an obligation to finish what we started and help continue the good work we HAVE begun in Iraq.

And I did go overseas, on assignment to Iraq, participated willingly and enthusiastically in the invasion and the beginning of reconstruction. I am proud of our service there, and know that much good has come, and more will come of this difficult stage in history.

I acknowledge that mistakes were made. We could have done better. But we can also work to correct what has failed, and keep working to sustain and even improve what is effective. I do not blame dissidents or protesters for their actions or speech, but I would invite more who are sitting doing nothing to get involved, one way or another. And my final word is that yes, we can win this war, IF we commit whole-heartedly, as a global alliance of democracies and people who value tolerance, humanism, and multiculturalism.

We may have to do what the Normans did in England and Ireland. We may have to blend with the population, even bring families from the West to help build Iraq, settle there to stay, even become "more Moslem than the Moslems." Only by investing more heavily in Iraq, and giving the transformation our 110% effort, will we help Iraq's moderate sector win out in the current civil war. Only this way will we forestall Iran and Syria joining to oust the Anglo-American alliance and defeat the democratic government of Iraq. It won'd be easy, but together, Iraqis and Westerners can develop a progressive, balanced state which serves the interests of all, whether by compromise or by confederation.

No, I never believed we needed to go back. I worked for years in the Reagan defense build up which basically won the Gulf war in 91. We did not leave Saddam a wooden leg to stand on after that. I never thought we needed to go back. But I have been disabled out since the spring of '72. I still can recall the Ashau valley and Roung Roung valley and all the mountains in between. Nope, I would not volunteer for a war fought this way. But I am still proud of the one I fought and the way it was fought.

I volunteered and served during Vietnam and would for Iraq but am too old. There is lost the idea that there are things that are worth giving up our lives for: a free country, human values, our fellow countrymen. Instead, in our self involvement, we lose our lives to ignorance, drugs and street violence. At times, I am very ashamed of what we have become.

The be conscious church as used the scriptures skill a referred to as out crew of human beings. There are 3 church homes contained in the Bible. We are doing the right thing by staying in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have to finish what was started. I already did my time. I spent 4 years in the US Army 1991-1995. If the Army wants me back I'd go in a heartbeat!

Well, it'd be more accurate to say we have something to do there. How it's being done is a different matter. For me, I'm not over there due to the fact that even though it was in the line of duty, the Army frowns on those with artifical joints, and enough metal embedded in the body to set off metal detectors from 12 feet.

This has all been reported to the DOJ, Even our top law enforcement

I dont believe we belong in Iraq but I dont think it is a total lost cause either. My husband is over there serving and he doesnt agree totally with the war but he is doing it mainly for our family to earn money so we are financially ok. And you cant not volunteer to go if you dont go you get put in Jail so its not really a choice. And some people go to earn the extra money
