How does one wash an anus?

I have heard that some people wash their bums after they go to the toilet as opposed to just wiping.
But if you don't have a bidet then I don't understand how it's possible without water going everywhere or hiking yourself up on the sink or something.
I was just wondering after I came across a question about toilet paper lol

And isn't it a bit unhygeinic in a way, what do you use? Bare hands? You'd esentially be sticking your hand essentially on poo remnants? Or do they use some kind of cloth..

The whole thing just baffles me lol. I can understand if they took a shower..

damn! Whats going on? It kept deleting my text and switching the section. Now it posted without me re-editing my stupid mistakes! Oh well..

Es(s)entially is not supposed to be there twice.

unhygeinic is supposed to be unhygienic..

Good question, I have traveled in a lot of these countries that do this. It makes it hard to use their bathrooms when there is no trash can, no toilet paper, and you can't flush anything. Most of these people have squatty potties with is basically a hole in the floor like at the bottom of a shower.
Anyway they do wipe with their hands with soap only using the left hand. Seriously this is why you are never to shake hands with the left. What I have been doing is taking wipes a plastic ziplock and also try to only go when I have to shower. Another thought....how do you think it feels to have to squat mid-air to go #2. It's not so nice and then there is only a bucket to run water down the hole. Happy squatting

Wipes are the way to go, BUT WASH YOUR HANDS THOROUGHLY after, cos who wants to get Poo under finger nails.....
Some countries leave a lot to be desired crapping into hole on floor, damn when one has a tummy ache and it comes out like water everywhere...
Like Homer Simpson says DOH!!!!!

There are these wipes that can be flushed for cleaning well after bowel movements. First you use toilet paper silly. Then the scented wipes. At Wal-mart they are found close to pharmacy. They smell pertty too..lol

There are toilets which spray your bottom with water, wet wipes work (still washing hands afterwards). You can contract even microscopic "poo" and urine to your hands so always wash anyway.

I have also heard of people doing that but I asked some of my close friends and they said they use dampened wash clothes or disposable towelettes (baby wipes) made for buttocks area. I have tried them. It makes you feel rather extra clean and refreshing. I recommend them to everyone.

Most toilets are located close to the sink.. the toilet paper can be dampened and used quite satisfactorily.
