Or should I dye it a dark dark brown instead of black?
Any suggestions?
I sorta have a fair skin complexion by the way.

Since I'm pretty light, do you think my skin color and black hair will contrast horribly?

black hair is not natural get dark brown instead. I'm supposed to have black hair but then its really dark brown I also suggest you wear blush or darken your skin a little or else you'll look dead!

I dyed my hair back to black a while ago. I had it it lightened ages ago and have had between dark red to tan and finally missed my natural hair color: black. However, I was not trying to look Goth or like a Rocker chic...just natural. So I went for Loreal Natural Black...it has a hint of brown. It look very natural...like my original hair color. But man, was it ever toxic! My eyes were watering and my scalp was stinging the whole time. The fumes that the dye gave off were just rancid. You really need to use it in a well ventilated place ( I did it in the bathroom with the door closed - bad idea!)
However, it you are trying to go for the "obviously dyed" look, then I would got for jet black and screw the Natural Black. I've seen some girl with pale complexions with the jet black, and they look really nice! Gives them an air of mystery.
I've heard the darker shades of dye are more toxic than the lighter shades. So if you intend on dying your hair quite often, I might suggest the natural hair dyes (you can get them in most natural food supermarkets, and ethnic supermarkets) hopefully they will be friendlier on the eyes and scalp.

For years I've dyed my hair black, can't go wrong with Clairol's Black Pearl color...BUT! just a few weeks ago, I decided to go dark dark brown, and it didn't work out, mind you, I not dyed my hair in almost 8 months thinking this way, by the time I wanted to change my hair color, the black would be out...um...WRONG! I tried an at home kit to dye my hair, only for my busted roots to only catch the color and now I am left with my roots shouting for attention and the rest of my hair just gloomy black. I went to the Salon the other day to see if they would come to my rescue, and well, they can, at a rate of over $300! My hair isn't going to be able to get dyed unless they strip the black off with bleach or I just let my hair grow out, in which I rather die then have my roots kicking and shouting on my head...so I have to go back to black...so my advice, if you want to permanetly have black hair, dye it black, it sure as heck doesn't come out unless you shave...and as for your complextion, I have a light tan skin tone, but my face is PALE! it's hereditery...anywho, in order for me not to look like I just got out of my grave, I slap in some skin tint and a bit of blush. Good LUCK!

I think if you are light in complexion then you will look dead with black hair...why not go for something a little more natural? but if you still want to go black, I would use Clairol hair dye.
Also, keep in mind, that hair dye fades over time with washing and what not.

Try Revlon's color stay in Alomst Black. It's a little less "harsh" than jet black.

I dun recommend Jet black unless you are supermodel-goodlooking or if you are asian. Or unless you are Ashley-Simpson wannabe.
