The book of Revelations in the Bible states that Jesus will come again to judge the living and the dead. Well, I think He has, but in a different, more subtle, but just as meaningful way. Have you ever looked at someone and just known you were staring right into the eyes of Jesus? Like a homeless person, or a stranger, or just anyone?? Like you knew you had to help them. Or even a friend who was hurt, ever looked into the eyes of Jesus?

Right. I don't think I made that clear that I didn't mean that He has come to judge. I just mean that He has come in other ways.

You have it right. The guys who think he is coming to judge are the ones who have it wrong.

This idea is a misunderstanding of scripture.

Jesus has no intention of returning as a living human. He already did that.

This time Jesus is returning in the hearts of those who have accepted his message and try to live their lives to emulate his teachings. Few actually do this. It requires a radically different interpretation of love from the one understood by most so-called believers. Most people see love as something that you keep in reserve only for those you have judged worthy of it.

This is not love at all. This is only judgment. Judgment is the exact opposite of what Jesus was teaching. Remember judge not lest ye be judged. Jesus asks us to love our neighbor. Notice that there is no accept for in this statement. Every one is intended to be included in this love Jesus ask us to have for our fellow man. This type of universal application of love requires no judgment on our part because Jesus’' intent was that no one be left out of it.

This is a difficult pill to swallow for any religion that thinks of it's self as being the one true and only correct way to God. This idea of exclusivity is the exact opposite of the message of inclusively that Jesus gave us.

Attaining the goals that Jesus set for us may be difficult within the constraints most religions impose. This is why many who seriously try to emulate the true teachings of Jesus in their lives do not ascribe to any particular religious following. They follow the truth in their hearts where Jesus has taken up residence.

Love and blessings.

Thought Provoking Questions For Christians

2017-01-20 04:25:00 · answer #2 · answered by erke 4 · 0 0

Hmm, not Revelation, but Acts 10:42
"And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead."
Jesus has not returned as you suggested. the Bible tells us how it will happen:
1 Thes. 4:16-18
"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. [17] Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. [18] Therefore comfort one another with these words."
Now, the Bible does say that we need to be careful how we treat people because of the angels:
Hebrews 13:2
"Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it."

Jesus Christ came the first time to fulfill the prohesy of the Messiah found in the Old Testament. He fullied all three offices of Prophet, Priest, and King.

Jesus Christ will come again to judge the living and the dead. Where he will finally destroy evil and reign literally as King of the Universe for eternity.

The Bible tells us that when we do something for/to someone else we are "doing it to the least of my bretheren, you did it unto me".

A thoughtful question indeed. But I don't know, I've reached out to many people on the streets but never had that feeling. Well maybe once. I was driving down the road and saw this young heavyset girl with stuff laid out beside the road trying to sell it. I passed by but had to go back "that pulling of the Holy Spirit" I gave her every bit of cash I had on me and only took a little book with me and I told her that God told me to come back, and she thanked me and said bless you. As I drove away I just sensed something weird had happened, you know like the scripture that says "be careful that you entertain angels unawares".

God Bless

Kiara we are tested everyday, how we have done to "the least" we have done unto Jesus! I try to be very careful how I treat all people, we are called to walk in LOVE! Now think about it who does the people of this world consider "the least"...alcoholics, drug addicts, homeless people and the like and how should we be treating them? ..like they were Christ!

we are dealing right here with an exception to the regularly occurring rule so based on the countless Love and Goodness of God, He ought to have some provisions for those staggering circumstances. In catholic doctrine, we've certainly one of those factor as baptism with the help of want; it is, if have they been able to be uncovered and taught approximately Christ, they might have oftentimes happening Him, the author's acceptable wisdom of His introduction might understand this for each man or woman. besides the redemptive sacrifice of Christ is for absolutely everyone no count if the guy understand Him or no longer.

Hmmm, while your observation is nice, its not quite on the mark, or scriptural. When Jesus returns you will face judgement, which includes answering for the good and the bad of your life.

I suppose, if I were to go with what you said, you could have looked into the face of an angel, who for reasons of their own chose to reveal a window of knowledge to you....or more likely you are seeing what you desire to see.

This is not to run down your idea. Not at all. But scripture differs from your idea, and I have to go with scripture.

Hebrews 13:2
"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unaware."
