I've been with him for a over a year now and it was his idea for me to get on birth control in the beginning but now he also wants us to use condoms. Can you guys tell me why a guy would want that, or ladies who have gone through something similar. He says its to be safer so I wont get pregnant but after a year and being on birth control?

I think he's pretty smart for wanting to use condoms. Or in a really, really awful case that I hope isn't happening, he may be cheating and doesn't want to "catch" anything.

Well maybe he wants extra protections becuase no birth control is 100% secure.
Or He is cheating and cares enough to use condoms, or he thinks you're cheating. It could be a number of things, the only way to really find out is to ask him.

1. He wants to be extra careful... the risk of pregnancy is no joke! I have gotten pregnant TWICE on birth control.
2. If you have not both been tested for everything they can test for, you damn well better still use condoms!

Birth control isn't 100% effective, he just wants to have a back up, ya know....just in case. I don't think you want an unplanned pregnancy and either does he. I don't think there is anything wrong with this.

It could just be for the extra protection from you getting pregnant... or it could be extra protection because he is 'sleeping' with someone else and wants to be sure you do not get 'anything'
