No you can not if you do not get rid of the cat. No matter what you do about cleaning, filters or whatever someone tells you if you still keep the cat in your house your going to have problmes.

Say you buy a house and the previous owners had animals and you are allergic.
To remove it all one would replace all the carpeting in the house, any drapes or cloth items that were left over and do a complete wash down of the interior of the home if not a full repaint.
Even then you still have up to a 10% chance of having allergic reactions as it only takes a few spores of dander to cause the allergy.

I have no idea how allergic your children are to cats, so I don't know how much you want to risk trying something to keep the cat. I personally was hospitalized several times from coming in contact with a cat as a child. Now, as I have aged (I stopped being as allergic around age 20 and was able to stop my weekly shots), I have found I am only really allergic to long haired cats, or cats whose litter including (ferrets) has not been changed frequently enough. Also, I noticed a big reduction in some of my other environmental and long haired dog allergies, since investing in the DYSON 'Animal' sweeper. It is quite expensive, but easy to clean and I don't have that 'sweeper smell' after sweeping. It really sucks the junk out of the carpet too. Not to endorse it , but it really does work 'for me'.

You can't. You can wash your cat often and vacuum the house and wash the sheets or anything else you want to do. However, dander is caused by the cat licking itself. A protein builds up and causes it to make dander. It's in the air even where there are no cats, it's so fine...finer than dust. So, I'd say.....vacuum, wash, give the kids benedryl. Godloveya.

A good vacuum, either replacing or thoroughly shampooing the carpet, changing bed sheets, curtains, a good air filter. Maybe get rid of the cat, if you haven't? Or put it outside...

No, you can't. And the allergy can turn into something more serious in the future...I love cats, but if you're allergic to them (and I am ) , you can't be around them at all.

Yeah. Get rid of the cat. Should be an easy choice.

Yes. Get rid of the carpet, and don't let the cats onto beds and couches. Oh, and don't let your kids play with them.
Or, get rid of the cats alltogether.
