Go to start>search files and folders>type in name of file you're looking for. Let the machine do a search for it

It is virtually impossible to undo a file that has been saved over. When you save you write the new data over the top of the old data, unlike when you delete a file it actually just changes the first character of the file name and frees it up so that the FAT can use that disk space again.

If you did not opt for automatic backups in Word, you saved your last edit.

Personally, I chose to have backups made. Of course it will be up to you to delete them, but I elected to have them just for the example you cite.

In Word, click Tools
cl Options
cl Save tab
cl in the box to always create backup copy

Umm... Sometimes a program saves a back-up version of a file.
I know Microsoft Word has one, but its hidden, you'll have to be able to view hidden files
And JBuilder has one... and many more...
