Brushing your teeth...or a fluoride rinse.

Brush and floss atleast twice a day. Don't just brush your teeth, but your gums as well. This is called stimulation. Brush in a circular motion throughout your mouth...front and back. Make sure you use a soft tooth brush and don't over do it b/c eventually you may wear away some enamel. 2 min. is sufficient.(30 sec. on each quadrant.)

You will notice blood when you expectorate or spit, but this is good. It may even be a little painful at first, but in time it will get better.

Rinsing with a mixture of warm water and salt after brushing will help kill some bacteria as well.

If you suspect you have gingivitis, please see your dentist to rule out the later stage, which can be devistating to the bone. This will require further treatment, such as a scaling and root planing.

Don't forget to visit your dentist bi-annually for exams and cleanings. This will help you as well!

From what I understand, once you lose gum tissue to gingivitis it doesn't grow back.

The best way to avoid gingivitis is to brush and floss in the morning and before you go to bed.

Once the gum tissue has pulled away from the tooth you have to take even greater care of the tissue and clean out the "pocket" with floss.

See a dentist for care, however, they need to get rid of the "tartar" which is calcified sugar on the tooth, that builds up in the pocket. It really cleans everything up.

If my answer has provided the information that you are looking for, please rate it. Thank you.

Brushing your teeth and flossing them !!!!!!! Seeing your dentist every 6 months for checkups !!!
if you have bad gingivitis you probably will have to have some surgery where they cut the gums back and remove all the gunk from down below . It is very efective . But if you see your dentist regularly then you already know all this .

GINGIVITIS IS COMPLETELY REVERSIBLE.THIS IS A CONDITION WHERE THE GUMS OR GINGIVA ARE RED, PUFFY,AND BLEED EASILY WHEN YOU BRUSH OR FLOSS. THE BEST WAY TO TREAT IT IS TO HAVE A PROFESSIONAL PROPHYLAXIS (CLEANING). TO KEEP FROM COMING BACK, BRUSHING AND FLOSSING ARE THE KEY. NOT TREATING GINGIVITIS WILL LEAD TO PERIODONTITIS A CONDITION WHERE THE BONE BEGINS TO BE ATTACKED AND ERODED. ULTIMATELY, THIS LEADS TO LOSS OF TEETH AND DENTURES.
