1) Gargle with warm salt water-- lots of salt-- it kills the beggers in your mouth and throat-- do it frequently. 2) take your antibiotics -- ALL of them spaced time wise correctly ( every 6 hours, every 12 hours- however it's ordered) If you have the option-- tell the perscriber that you'll do better with less doses a day. 3) take two extra strength tylenol or generic form every 6 hours around the clock for the yucks-- 4) drink lots of fluids 5) hot spiced tea helps the throat, too. 6) use a dishwasher that sterilizes for your dishes, silverware, glasses--OR- put a good slug of clorox in the dishwater. 7) use the same dishes/glasses/silverware, 8) wash your hands like crazy-- use clorox wipes ( if they are 10% solution) or solution on the telephone, the computer keyboard, anything anyone uses, including yourself- yes, you can reinfect...-- all the time you have symptoms. Strep is very willing to infect everyone! and if you don't kill your bacteria-- it can cause many other problems later-- like scarletina, like heart murmurs. Make sure you use tissues for nose and cough-- and cover up nose and mouth very well-- and trash the tissues.
I know it's a mess-- but these things will help. The antibiotics will kill the bacteria but if you don't take the entire amount as ordered-- you are teaching that strep to ignore that antibiotic. I hope that is clear.
good luck

Aside from antibiotics, I always love lemon-honey tea when sick. Heat one cup of water, squeeze 1/2 lemon in water and then let the lemon sit in cup for 5 minutes. Then add a couple tablespoons of honey. I really does make you feel better, especially if you have a sore throat. Also, lots of rest.
