says that christ will come down (2nd coming) for the living and dead. what does that mean, that when we die now, we are just dead and waiting for the 2nd coming of christ. then there is no heaven at the moment.

Living and dead are two classifications of people. Everyone, good and bad, will be resurrected for the last judgment. When the Lord comes back, the dead in Christ will be raised first, then we who are alive and remain will be taken up. The dead are either with the Lord, or else in Hell, depending on their faith in God or lack of faith. When the believer dies, they go to be with the Lord until the resurrection.
2 Cor. 5:6-8
Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord— [7] for we walk by faith, not by sight— [8] we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

Get a New Testament and read Luke 16:19-31 (I would insert it here, but that's too many verses). The rich man died and woke up in torment in Hades. Lazarus died and woke up in Abraham's bosom. Both were conscious, one suffered, one was blessed. The rich man begged for someone to go tell his five brothers, so they would not go to that place. Abraham's answer is that they have Moses and the Prophets, if they won't believe them, neither would they believe if one arose from the dead, (which Jesus did).

I think you are referring to the rapture. When the rapture occurs the dead in Christ and the living Christians will be taken to heaven. The souls of the dead born again Christians are already in heaven, they are waiting for the resurrection of their bodies.

there was a post about how some will immediately go to Heaven--How will that be if they have not ate of his Body and drank of his blood--he said unless you do this you have no life in you? I say the Christians will fall asleep in death until he comes back then at that time he will raise the ones who were righteous in his eyes but, the Catholics who do eat of his Body and drink of his Blood will not die we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye.

i suppose you can say it that way- the 2nd coming will be for those who have passed before us --souls are kept in a certain degree of glory- before heaven is obtained-- heaven is there if your alive or dead according to my belief-- its what pleases the lord -- what you pave on earth, you also pave in heaven--being faithful, charitable and doing his work will be favorable in his eyes-- happy trails

The dead are those that died prior to the new covanant that are righteous in God's eyes. You are already in "heavenly relms'" with him. You identity is in Christ not in this world.

There is a RESURRECTION you know...just because the body went on the spirit lives and therefore he will come for those who have not yet went before us and those who did.

Getting into the hereafter has a lot to do with what you are, what you do today and in your whole life.

Be the best person you can be.

Everything else is up to God.

Don't expect. Don't do things for rewards. Do things because they are the proper thing to do.

Here's what I think: it doesn't matter. Do you love God? Do you want to feed the hungry and clothe the naked and teach the illiterate how to read? That's enough. If you keep jacking around with revelation, you are wasting your time, and nobody's life is long enough to be wasted.

I think that heaven exists, because God, Jesus, the angels, and possibly the 24 elders are currently there. But it seems, according to scripture, that no people are there.
