It does not make any different if you are muslim or an arab as long as you are a US citizen in good standing. They will turn you inside out and check everything about you everyone you know, your childhood, your jobs, your family and much more. If it all checks out then you will get tested.
And no matter who you are, everyone is treated equal.

You have to be an American citizen.
A college degree is also required as well as the ability to pass a detailed background investigation.
My stepson wants to join the FBI once he gets out of the service.
