Who out there is familiar with the blast in Siberia in the year 1908?

I have read about it on the internet. What an amazing occurance. If that blast happened in Europe thousands would have died because it stretched 700 miles. IS there any evidence that it was anything other than a asteroid explosion that occured in the air.

This was the explosion in Tunguska, Siberia. The current understanding is that it was an asteroid which exploded above ground, but that has not been verified.
