Yes fleas do bite. The most common place is around the ankle area. And that is because fleas will borrow in the cracks of your floors. So all floors should be washed with really hot water. But at the same time keep your cat indoors. He or she may have picked up the fleas from another animal. A good flea collar. And don't get the collar wet or it will not work. Leave about two fingers of space when putting on flea collar. Some people just don't read the instructions carefully before putting on a flea collar. Fleas live off of the animals skin and not yours. They only bite us and hop away. Not to worry about washing everything else in the house. Also alot of people who move into a new place and don't have an animal often wonder why they have bites on them. That could be because the last owners had animals with fleas. So they borrowed in the cracks of the floor. So three things here. 1. Keep your cat indoors. 2. Get a flea collar. 3. Wash floors with really hot water. Wear rubber gloves for extra hot water to rid.
Good luck.
P.S. If you feel you are infested. I mean if you have tons of bites on you. You can buy spray for your bed, couch, etc. But be sure cat does not inhale or you will have another problem.

Yes fleas will attack humans. Go to your local walmart or kmart and in the pet isle they should carry a flea killer that you can spray on your furniture to kill the fleas. If that doesn't work call your nearest orkin man.

Fleas will love to bite you as much as they will your cat. Once you have put a flea collar on or used Frontier - a pesticide that kills the fleas as they bite your cat, you will need to vacum thoroughly because that will infest your carpet.
Repeated vacuuming is recommended by our vet.

In 1957 fleas attacked Chicago. In the first wave of the attack hundreds were killed. The army and air force were called in and eventually the invasion was repelled.

I had the same thing...They do bite humans too! I had a few bites on my feet until I used something that would kill them in the carpet and furniture and another spray for the cat.
