Yes this happens quite a bit. This is said right before they get insulting or slam Christianity pretty good.

I am not sure that's right. The most disrespectful and offensive questions come from people who intend to be that way. Maybe I have missed some questions so I won't say that for sure.

perhaps those asking respectfully are genuinly concerned that their question may hurt or offend people
and by asking respectfully they are stating that it is not their intention to do so

I mostly just pass over the really quirky ones as insignificant.
And there are a lot.

Some I get right on just because.

Most of the time they fish, get the answer they want and whine when they get criticized.
I really do not have to mention names.

It's because when people ask a disrespectful question, they know it, however they want an honest answer, and to make the question sound better, they have to add respectufully.

Why else would they have to ask forgivness by mentioning their respect?

People want to talk about unpleasant topics, but no one has mastered the proper way. It's a shame we can't have more open dialog in society.
