i know exactly how you are feeling. i am going through school myself at thirty years old so i am really out of practice. anyway, make it fun like i did. i went to target and got all of the things that i thought were pretty, like new folders, sticky notes, highlighters, nice pens and pencils with cute things on them. i even bought colorful flashcards and a nifty holder. by making it colorful and not dull really helped me to concentrate and make it worth wild. also try a quiet place. i needed mostly quiet, no music or tv because i found myself singing in my head and reading at the same time, but not really understanding what i am reading. try to quiz your self. by making your own tests, by typing or writing them out helps you know the answers to quesions you need to study for. make your own study packet. get organized and have fun with it. good luck

Good question. I am actually a straight A student (no joke), and there are many ways to motivate yourself to study.
1. DON'T CRAM! The worst thing you cando is cram a study period before the day of the test. Start studying atleast a week early, when the teahcer tell you about the test. If you're not up to starting that early, then Try to atleast read over the things on the test two days before.
2. Every time you get a lesson, read it over and make sure you understand it. so f there's anything you don't get, you can ask the teacher right away.
3. Don't be afraid to ask a teacher. It's what they are there for. There's no point in going to school if you don't ask teacher once in a while. it would be just buying textbooks and studying at your own pace.
4. Make a deal with your parents. If you get 90% or over, you get 10 bucks. If you get atleast 5 A's on your report card, you get to buy something not out of your allowance (don't make it pricey though). It's something to look forward to if you get these good marks. it will help you study harder.
5. take breaks once in a while. That will make sure your head doesn't freeze after 3 hours of non-stop studying.
The main basic tips are rewading yourself, and NO CRAMMING. Studying with friends also helps too. it helps to socialize while studying, so you don't get a nervuos break-down. Try these tips, and good luck!

I would suggest treating yourself if you get the grade that you want. For example, if you're striving to get a 90 and you get 90 or above, take yourself to the spa, buy some new clothes. Whatever.

think about how embarrassed you will be if you fail.
pretend the test is sooner than it is, so you will feel the time crunch pressure to study (never worked for me, i'm the hugest procrastinator, but maybe).
make an appointment to meet friends atthe library to study, but don't sit next to them. take a quick email break once an hour and schedule a coffee break every few hrs

Set up a reward system for yourself. I used junk food. If I study for half an hour straight I can watch soft core porn when I am done. If I study an hour after that I can have a pint of chubby hubby.

Go to a gas station at 2 o' clock in the morning.
Got to the bathroom.
Go to a toilet.
Lift up the lid.
Stick your hand in it.
Now think of doing that for the rest of your life.............
