Start off with wine coolers/malt bevarges... they don't have too much alcohol and they taste good... like strawberry, peach, hawaiian punch, and orange for instance... then if you drink them quick it will give you a buzz... In my opinion that's the best to start off with.

try a mixed drink. I suggest something mixed with vodka because vodka is a suttle taste with fruit juice and in other mixed drinks. Cranberry and vodka or orange juice or vodka. If you are at a bar just get the house vodka. If mixing on your own, do not buy the cheapest vodka. That will kill you.

Wine coolers or beer. Be care full if you drink mixed drinks, you can't taste the alcohol so you can't judge how much you've drank, and liqueur sneaks up on you, you'll be drunk before you realize you should stop drinking. The key words are BE CARE FULL, make sure you are with ppl you trust.

Avoid anything with carbonation or hard alcohol.
A glass of Merlot or Chardonnay wine will do.
Also, do not drive as first time exposure severely impairs most people even tho they do not meet the DUI limit, they cause accidents which carry heavy fines with any positive BAL.

White russian tastes kind of like coffee with cream
Try a Captain and Coke, that's good. Hint of spice to it.
Stay away from Tequila, Gin and Whiskey until you acquire a taste.

First off, does your friend(s) want to start drinkin alcoholic drinks and are they of legal drinking age? If the answer to both of these questions is yes then I would suggest wine coolers or wine spritzers(wine & soda:seven-up,etc).

I'd advice you not to get started drinking. It has a lot of bad consequences. Poor misjudgements, Alcoholism and liver problems.
