Like for instance im tryin to motivate myself to move out of my home town. Im 19yrs old theres nothing here, and ive seen all there is to see. The problem is, though, im skeptical about moving, because since it is all i know, every other city ive thought about moving to, seems overwhelming. But come on, I gotta start somewhere, I cant stay here in Kansas for the rest of my life. Im beating myself up over this, because everytime I get an opprtunity to move, I chicken out and make excuses to get myself out of it. Its really frustrating. When it comes down to it Im afraid of and even hate change. But you know they say change is good and apart of life. But anyways I just need some opinions or advice on this matter. Or similar experience stories, something to make me feel better about this, so i dont feel like im the only one in the world with this problem. For all future responses I thank you.

All I can say is that you are procrastinating on what you want and need. You need to suspend doubt and go for it. The worst thing that can happen is you fail, but failure is a good learning experience and you can afford it at your young age. You need to know that their is nothing to fear but fear in itself. I can relate when I was very scared to take over a new job that required a whole lot more responsibility than what I was used to. I talked to my supervisor explaining that there is no way I can do this type of work with my limited experience and knowledge. I was forced into in. like being pushed into the river. I had two choices, swim or sink. Of course I chose to swim and I am so thankful I faced what I feared and I became so confident that it just grew into the person I am today, a successful businessman. Now, it is time to destroy those mental obstacles getting in your way. You can choose to walk around the mountain, but you will feel so much better about yourself if you bulldoze the mountain down conquering your self limitations and growing as a human being.

I don't know where you're from in Kansas...but I was once there too... small town in the northeast part just outside of a college town... and the best thing I ever did was get out... It can be very scary, but it's amazing to see just what else is out there. You are young, but you still have plenty of time to go out and make your own mistakes and your own greatness.

btw... the town I was in was a town of 800... I then moved to a capital city of a different state...very scary...but there was a lot of opportunities for me there. Good luck!

Do you have a friend who lives somewhere else you can move in with? I wouldn't just go somewhere all on your own, without any support. Do you have any relatives you can move in with? How about going away to college or millitary. My husbands family all live minutes away from each other. They are all around 40 are still dependant on their parents. I think you should give it a try. You never know, unless you do.

You may well know every place is the same. only difference is your not there.
stay where your at and don't pressure yourself to go just for the sake of going.
