Christians do u believe in creationism? (the belief that the earth is just 6-10,000 years old) or Evolution (the belief that the earth is billions of years old?) and why? also i believe in creationism b/c in the book of genesis it says that adam and eve were made only days after all the other animals/dinosaurs was made (not billions or millions of years), and i believe in creationism for another reason...it seems to me personally that evolution has become like a religion almost to most ppl, not a religion like they worship a god, but close for example: on the discovery channel when a scientist talks about how the earth is ''billions'' and ''billions'' of years old, or a specific creature that has ''evolved'', they always say that ''evolution'' has equipped this creature with (blah) (blah), so that's why i believe in creationism, so christians why do u believe in creationism/evolution? also for the evolutionist out their i don't mean to batter evolution, it's just my opinion.

Let's just throw out the process of objective scientific observation because some old book goes against its findings. Sounds reasonable to me.

Can you tell me where anyone got the idea that Christians think the earth is only 6- 10,000 years old? as I recall the bible does not mention the age of the earth at all..the bible also does say that a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day to God..which means God is TIMELESS so why even try to figure out how old it is...also just a thought for people who are smart enough to think about it..these scientist also think the sun is 5785 K degrees..WHO has EVER gotten close enough to take the suns temperature? they also say it's circumference is 4.373×106 km who has been able to get close enough to measure it? Why are people so gullible?

Evolution is not a religion. "Scientific" Creationism is a religion that takes the Bible, and places Genesis 1-6 above the New Testament. Christ spoke in parables, yet "Scientific" Creationists take the story literally (after interpretation), and are willing to abandon the teachings of Christ to defend it. How else would you explain their hatred and deceit. Look at Creation itself and ignore the blasphemers.

both, I believe that God "created" everything and guided "evolution", there is so much evidence supporting evolution and a billion year earth. don't take the 7 "day" creation story literally, but remember that "one day to god is like a thousand to us", therefore the creation could have been millions of years. when satan was exiled from heaven, it caused destruction upon the earth and possibly killed the dinsosaurs

i personally believe in creationism because its in the bible. also i believe that the world or earth has been around for 6-10,000 years. billions and billions of years sounds to fake and it just doesnt sound right. in the bible god only talks about creation but nothing about evolution. im with you on that. evolution is something that scientists have come up with to avoid the fact that god has created the heavens and the earth and everything else, they dont want to admit it, thats why they have also come up with the "big bang". to lead people away from the truth from god.

I watched a special last night, it was about the shroud they found,,t hat was believed to be what was wrapped arpund Jesus, when he was taken from the cross, well SCIENE HAS proven that it most likely is the shroud that was wrapped around Christ, it shows marks, from where he was peirced in the side, whipped, with a catanintails, signs of nails being driven in his wrist, and his feet. I was convenced before, with out all this evidence, But I think God is trying to tell others, so they can prepare for the trumpets, that are about to sound.

evolution is not a religion, it is a scientific fact. What do you want these scientists to say? "hmmm... even though we have examined the fossils, tools, and other things of this early species that all point towards an evolutionary acquisition of the trait, we will say they just have it to appease the creationist agenda"

I think years can have different interpretations. A year in a biblical sense may not be the same as our year, and the same goes for a day. God's days may be totally different. I believe there is a divine source involved in our lives. Call it God if you like. You might call it love.

no

You make several incorrect assertions.

1. Many believe in creation but NOT "young earth" which is based on MISINTERPRETATIONS of scripture. The Bible DOES NOT TEACH us about the AGE of the earth, only that God made it, along with everything else - even time itself. -- Additional info: [While in university, my job one year was research assistant to one of the Physics professors studying a geologic anomaly (formation, irregularity,... I'm not sure how to classify them, they are just something we find in rocks) called 'radioactive halos, or 'haloes.' THESE are the PRIMARY data, based on which we are able to estimate the age of the planet. ("Carbon dating" is only practical in BIOLOGICAL (organic compound) samples YOUNGER that 50,000 years, so it is not an element in the 'age of the earth' discussion.) In simple terms, we find a microscopic 'inclusion' of a radioactive material in some crystalline mineral. As the included radioisotope decays, high energy particles discolor the surrounding crystal. The decay leaves visible rings in the material at distances proportional to the energy of the particles released. By measuring the rings and comparing the data to the known ratios of discharged particle energies, we are able to estimate the minimum length of time which that crystal has existed. Since the half-life of many radioisotopes is known to be billions of years, we can get a pretty good handle on the minimum age of the rocks we are studying. There are still some things we don't fully understand, but the science here is pretty solid. You can web search radioactive halos/haloes and find more info. This IS NOT ABOUT EVOLUTION, but GEOLOGY.]

2. For Darwinistic evolution to take place would require untold billions of years. Science has NEVER SEEN a DRAMATIC improvement by means of genetic mutation in a species. Mutations are almost ALWAYS FATAL to that individual. IF science encountered several cases it might eventually be conceivable, but we have never seen ONE. BUT EVOLUTION IS THE BELIEF THAT SPECIES GRADUALLY CHANGE, NOT THAT THE EARTH IS A CERTAIN AGE.

'MICRO-evolution' is measurable and has been seen is several species in recent times - the color of moths in Britain change because coal dust changed the color of their environment and birds or other predators ate those that were lighter in color. MACRO-evolution, genetic mutation making a NEW SPECIES BETTER THAN its parents, has NEVER BEEN OBSERVED. NO SINGLE CASE can be pointed to by its believers where a genetic mutation resulted in a better species of anything.

I beleive that God created the world just like he said in Genesis (Christian Bible of course) and that the world is ony 6-10 or 12,000 years old.

btw, Have you noticed the circular reasonning in evolution? They find the age of the fossils by the rock layer they're in and the age of the rock by the fossils it has in it!
