We saw an ad for a free jacuzzi in our local classifieds, they just need it out by Sat. They say it still works, but hasn't been used in 4 years. It also needs 2 sides of paneling replaced. It will take a tremendous amount of work on our part to rent a stakebed, recruit 8 guys, and get the thing in our backyard. We've always wanted a jacuzzi, but I'm in school f/t right now so our finances SUCK.

I know 2 people who have acquired jacuzzis this way, and they work fine, so it's not necessarily going to end badly - but it has the potential to.

What do you guys thing?

Worth it?

A lot of people post up free jacuzzi's all the time because they want to get rid of their jacuzzi asap.

Although some of them need parts repaired, but the owners should be straight forward about it, or you can always ask them their reason why they are giving it for free. It doesn't hurt to ask.

Don't know where you live so this may not be an issue... try to determine if it's been exposed to freezing temperatures and not been winterized. It's a common cause of failure; split pipes, broken seals, damaged motors, etc. If you can see it in operation and can check for leaks then go for it.

hey if its free why not, if it doesnt work you can always laugh at it and throw it away, or give it away again!
