According to the synoptics, none of the 11 remaining disciples witnessed the crucifixion. But Mary Magdalene was there.

What does this say about Mary in comparison with the 11 who did not attend?

Check out John 19:26. "When Jesus therefore saw his mother, AND THE DISCIPLE STANDING BY, whom he loved, he said to his mother, Woman, behold your son!"

The Romans were not looking for Mary Magdalene. They were looking for the 11 disciples that were left. BUT John was there. The Romans did not notice him. Jesus gave His mother ( Mary ) to John to look after. Jesus said to His mother, " Behold your son. "

Mary Magdalene was the first to see him after his resurrection. Mary Magdalene was then told to go tell the other disciples that He had indeed arose from the dead.

The reason the 11 disciples were not at the crucifixion is because they were told they would die also. They were in a safe place.

Mary Magdalene had been healed of many demons, and she was grateful. The disciple whom he loved, John, was there, because Christ handed his mother into his care. His statement from the cross was this "Woman behold you son, and behold your mother."

He did have other brothers and sisters but why they did not show up no one knows. The other disciples had fled in fear, that is why they didn't come to they crucifixion.

John was there too. Peter was probably somewhere grieving about denying the Lord three times. The others were probably hiding fearing persecution. I believe this shows how much they truly loved the Lord and had faith in His word. It's one thing to say, "I love you." It's something on a totally different leave to show it. I believe this is why Jesus in-trusted His mother to John and first appeared to Mary after the Resurrection.
***Something to think about*****Isn't it just glorious that the Lord would still love and use men who were, just a few days prior, too afraid to even be with Him at His death. It really shows His mercy and forgiveness to His servants who tend to stray.

John was there for sure and maybe many of the others. It is not said. I do know this. They were there for his Resurrection. And Thomas later. Yup they all saw that for sure.
It's not about Mary, It's not about the disciples, Its about a man and a cross and a GOD and a way home. Its all about Jesus.

May GOD richly bless you.

Mary Magdalene was there because she was allowed to be without being executed herself as the disciples would have been.

several of the women who followed Christ were there --- they attended to him up to the point he was nailed to the cross.
Mary Magdalene did say she would follow him forever, after she was cleansed of those demons.... she kept her word.

In John Chapter 19 verses 25 - 27 names the Marys who were there and it also tells that Jesus gave charge of his mother to one of the disciples (whom he loved, the disciple isn't named; many say it's John) but Jesus said to his mother --- "woman behold thy son" and to the disciple "here is your mother".
