You could have two super powered vacuums pulling the ball in front of you and a vacuum behind you pulling the ball behind you. Exert a force of equal newtons and the ball will be in mid-air right in front of you. It will be in front of you cause you already exerted some newtons throwing the ball with our hand. The ball will have some kinetic (moving) energy and some perpetual (still)energy as it is in mid -air.
